The Laura Secord Homestead was the home of Canadian heroine Laura Secord who warned the British of an upcoming American attack during the War of 1812. Today, this museum features actual furnishings from the era. The costumed guides tell the story of how Laura risked her life through the dark and gloomy woods behind enemy lines in order to reach British command to tell them what she had overheard in an American plan to ambush the British. The Laura Secord Homestead is located in Queenston and is under the administration of the Niagara Park Commision, it also marks the starting point of her 32-mile trek.
