Niagara Falls Aviary - Niagara Falls Tour Guide  Back to Niagara Falls Tour Guide

Located within walking distance of the Falls, the Niagara Falls Aviary is a special treat for nature lovers. You’re in for a tropical adventure inside Bird Kingdom, where over 400 birds, some which are rare and even extinct, roam within 50,000 sq foot of indoor rainforest. Explore this amazing walk-through environment which includes 30’ high palm trees, a 40’ waterfall, ponds and streams throughout. Become engaged with the birds in the encounter zone and the lorikeet feeding area. Visit the small aviary where you’ll meet over 40 species of smaller birds with even bigger personalities! You’ll be amazed by their vibrant colours and enchanting songs.

The reptile zone is loads of fun, showcasing lizards, snakes, tortoises, spiders and scorpions. If you’re brave enough, you can even hug a Burmese python! See some of the creepiest animals that go bump in the night in the nocturnal zone! Located on the third floor, this section is a recreation of a dark ancient jungle ruin, containing crickets, owls and bats. Normally these creatures would be sleeping in the day; however, their internal clock has been reversed so that they’re awake.

An entirely hand carved Javanese house, originally from Java Island in Indonesia, now sits in the main aviary. It is an ancient Java house that, suggested by its eloquent carvings, was built for someone special. Drinks are served here on the weekends, or by pre-arranged bookings. The Javanese house may also be rented for private functions. The Macaw Market is your last stop for souvenirs, including bird related collectables.
